One morning in autumn, when the leaves on the trees were shimmering like goldfish, the ginger kitten woke up in the forest and found herself alone. She sniffed the air. Danger was coming close - the tread of a human. She cried for her mother. But Gatta, the mother cat, had gone hunting for food and was too far away to her her kitten's cry of alarm. So under the branch of the tall cypress the ginger kitten crept, trembling with fear. Then a pink fluttery thing (a human hand she was to learn later) reached towards her. In spite of her fear, the ginger kitten hissed and spat. She lashed out in fury at the hand which scooped her suddenly into the air.

This book is for the young and old who love cats. An ideal book for reading with pre-school children who love colourful illustrations and guessing what the mischievous cats will get up to next. I look forward to more adventures of the Tuscan Cats.
