A Great Story - Book of the Moment
"Naked in the Rain," is Markowitz's first novel, and should be considered a triumph. It's the story of fourty something Norah Edwards, who brings home James, a young 20 something stud, from a bar one night. In addition to their sexual relationship, the two become fast friends; each providing something the other has been desperately seeking. For Norah, James is the rock..he listens as she attempts to explain and confront the ghosts of her past. For James, Norah is the motivated woman who helps him find direction in his own life.
Ultimately, one could call "Naked in the Rain," a romance. It IS romantic, yet not sappy. It's also very sexual and sensual, but not too erotic. It's a nice mix of romance, suspense and sadness.
