I admit I'm a little late to the Vivi Congress band wagon, but with her new book NO CONDEMNATION she had definitely garnered a new fan.

Men and women alike can relate and enjoy the story that unfolds, taking us into situations that individuals of all ages and backgrounds can easily relate to---and even see themselves in.

Through the character Trene' you get a sense of what it means to seek fulfillment and purpose in the wrong things, even when you should know that you deserve much better. Other characters that emerge teach similar lessons of discovering your value and knowing that what has happened to you doesn't have to define the person you become.

If you are looking for a book that will keep you turning the pages, smiling and reflecting along the way, then NO CONDEMNATION will give you that and so much more. It's a story of life lived, mistakes made and the realization of your worth and value in the face of trying situations. You don't want to miss out on this literary treasure.

I really enjoyed this story of second chances, life after tragedy, and submitting to God's will. The characters were so relatable and their circumstances so human, so real. I got a little confused on the timeline for the story. I was also surprised at the main character's age, which I didn't learn until the end of the story. And, I also felt the story was rushed toward the end with more reliance on narrative to do the wrap up. However, even with that, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I laughed...a lot. I cried. I got mad and wanted to shake some sense into a few characters. I was shocked; I couldn't believe the main character's fate...after coming so far. And nothing aggravates me more than an ending that doesn't satisfy but such was not the case with this book. The author delivered an ending in which most of the characters got what they deserved. Did I mention that the language in this story is amazing-- beautiful words, beautiful imagery, catchy phrases, and down home wisdom? I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read the remaining books in the series.
