When Michael Boston retires at Barksdale Air Force base in Bossier, Louisiana he expects support in his new career field as a Realtor. He has a plan to take care of his family financial needs. However the unexpected happens during his transitioning to civilian life. A fortune teller warns Michael about his future and tells him to leave the state. His wife Marie becomes addicted to gambling and changes personality with no compassion. Then Michael finds it very difficult to deal with his wife gambling problem.
This leads to infidelity of husband and wife. Michael questions his sanity and quotes “I must be sane because I allowed the devil to walk the earth. After provocation, I reacted on religious instincts” Although shocked about the negative events in his life, he believes in his wedding vows and stick by his wife side. After traumatic events transpire, Michael considers suicide.
