Pam enjoys all the chores on the farm, but most of all she wants to help Grandpa milk the cows—but she is just too little.

"Go ahead. She won't hurt you."
Pam eagerly reached toward the cow. As she touched its soft side, it stepped backwards. Pam jerked her hand back.
"Let me show you," said Grandpa.
He reached under the cow. Streams of white milk soon squirted into the silver pail.
"How do you do that?" asked Pam.
"Come closer and I’ll show you. You have to squeeze and pull gently downward. Squeeze and pull. You wanna try?"
It was the first day of Pam’s vacation at her grandparents’ farm. She was ready to try anything, especially helping Grandpa milk the cows.
