Prodigal lips of
loudness
vocalize the scorn of
intolerance
onto minorities' grief & daggers
the stolen territories
with built in disobedience
all based on the same hatred legacy
the same disorder
lavish mouths of
strident strife
constrict & stampede
one's dream demise
and nevermore the clamour
of justice
shall be heard
the feeble voice of hope
subdued in anguish
amen.

Zydeco Zombie Dance
I sit outside, cross-legged, and read RC Henry's new book ... first with anguish, then subtle smiles, then wide eyes. They are word paintings, done in dark dripping blobs, and bright splashes of color.
Now I'm dragging a rusty chain over shards of glass, and in the next minute am lifted by a balloon directly into the sun.
There are places in some people's minds that are too exquisite and painful to revisit. Thank you, Mr. Henry, for going to yours.
