Excerpt
Casey spun toward the sound. More footsteps, followed by silence. Could it be Ray Johnson? Or Sheridan himself? Or both?
Casey raced to his room. He unlocked a cabinet in the closet and grabbed his .38. Sprinting toward the entryway, he flattened his back against the front wall. He slowed his breathing and peered around the edge of the curtain as he gripped the gun firmly.
A crimson glow in the eastern sky cut through the early morning darkness. He slipped behind the door and listened—another footstep, then silence.
With a steady finger alongside the trigger, Casey called upon years of training and took a deep breath. He whipped the door open and spun outside. In a crouch, he aimed his weapon in the direction of the footsteps.
In the dim light, two large dark eyes stared back. The small calf looked more surprised and startled than Casey was.

Michael Murphy has crafted a modern, multi-layered suspense with the kind of gothic elements I love...a creepy old house, a mysterious death and a protagonist haunted by his past. Secrets of Sheridan Manor is a tightly-plotted, fast-paced story that will keep the reader turning pages far into the night.
Sid Weaver Mainly Mysteries
The mixture of humor and suspense will keep you turning the pages and Murphy's development of his characters is superior. You must read it.
