Very creative, thought provoking story about what wouldn’t be done in the name of love. This story was very realistic and characters a little too believable. At times Kya’s experiences just brought it out of fiction into reality, making you ask yourself “Is Real Love Worth My Life?” A must read!

This was an edge of your seat story of love, anger and control over a woman in love. I could really relate to these characters in this story. Kya must have really been in love with Mike, with all of the things that she went through. This is a must read book, especially for the young girls. -

A local news broadcast used to begin with "Do you know where you childern are?" In Is Real Love Worth My Life?, a novel by Akron author D M Cummings, Kya Walters' mother hasn't been paying attention. She's given the graduating senion a car for making it through high school without getting pregnant, but she doesn't know that Kya and her boyfriend have been trying to conceive. She also doesn't know that Kya drinks and has a thriving drug business and that she accepts money from men, apparently giving nothing in return. If this sounds like a bad beginning for a young adult, you haven't heard the half of it. Kya's story, written in a cofessional style spirals nowhere but down. Though her boyfriend seems a decent sort, she takes up Mike, a drug dealer with eight children by different mothers. About everything that can be expected to Kya does, leaving the reader frustrated with the decisions this bright woman makes.
