She had asked her girls, and no one knew who he was. This particular day, Mary had some courage and decided to speak to him. He smiled and he was finer than she had thought the first couple of glances that she had of him. She started making small talk, asking him which school he attended, and she was correct, he attended Roosevelt, just as she did. He was in the tenth grade, and everyone called him Swav. She didn’t tell him that she had just turned fourteen three weeks prior and in the eighth grade, not just yet. She didn’t look her age at all. She stood five feet and four inches tall; she kept her hair in braids, half up and half down. The weather was still warm, so she had on a crop top shirt, a pair of jogging shorts that showed off her curves and a pair of black and white high-top Dunks. Swav gave her a good look up and down and asked her age, because her physique was nice, but her conversation and all the giggling came across as a little immature.
