Broken Mirror is a fictional book that focuses on three people that have been broken by events in life. They have settled into their pain. However, they are given the chance by one man to go back to their tragic event and change it any way they want. It is a novel about finding meaning in suffering.
Dan, Jonah, and Ingrid are people for whom life has dealt severe blows-they are broken and can't seem to get back into a meaningful world. Their relationships suffer in what appears to be a hopeless void, until each experiences a vacation in which the meaning of their suffering becomes apparent. Each compelled to the White Pine Inn, nestled on the coast of Maine, their interactions as a group stall. However, there is something interesting about the inn and especially Seth, the innkeeper. Like the conductor of an orchestra, he takes the grief of these three guests and highlights it against the possibility of changing fate. Will Dan, Jonah, and Ingrid find deeper understanding discovered through this insight? Will they find new hope and meaning in their lives, or will they retreat back into the safety of their suffering?
