The many women I had the opportunity to interview were all hurting in some way. Even when the decision to have an abortion was made quickly, the aftermath was emotionally painful. Either keeping their baby or giving it up for adoption brought about a deep sense of loss. The women who chose abortion after a rape were in anguish and many had no words to express their pain. Mothers who had abortions because of a medical anomaly in the fetus suffered as greatly. The stories themselves as told by the mothers are a better witness to the difficult and perilous journey they had to face.      It is rare for a book or an agency to present the pros and cons for both abortion and carrying the unborn to term. Lives Interrupted can provide education, interviews with professionals and personal stories from both sides of the dilemma. While the subject is difficult to face, the book is presented in an easy reading format.
