August 2006 if someone were to ask the question “Do you write poetry,” my response would have been a definitive no. I began writing poetry on a dare after accepting an invitation to an open mike poetry night at a local tavern.
This is a collection of poems, all written with a direct or an indirect reference to the Holy Father, who holds dominion over my life. There are specific messages to young people, African-Americans, and women suffering from mental and physical abuse.

This is a very thoughtful, personal book of poetry. The author gets you to feel with her. Some poems will make you laugh, some will make you angry. I'm not a regular reader of poetry, but to me, that is what poetry is supposed to do. SB
