I had to ask myself this question, what is it that our Lord wants most of all from us who claim devotion to Him? Should we build Him more churches? More schools; Day cares, Christian K-12 or Bible colleges,? What about more evangelistic centers? More homes for the elderly and disabled? Lets see, maybe we need more centers for those with addictive personalities and institutions for hurting people? And let’s not forget, more user friendly churches with all kind of perks for the easily bored.
He who dwells not in buildings made by hands wants much more than that! Solomon thought he had built for God an everlasting temple. Within 50 years, it was in decay; and in less than 400 years, it was completely gone. In light of eternity, that is only a blink of the eye.
We need to ask ourselves this question, what can we do and accomplish for His glory when He already has all the Glory? Certainly not more grandiose exploits that end in splendor and earthly greatness.
