Let me start by saying that Inspirational Fiction is my favorite genre, and Ms. Jones did not disappoint. Fluid writing, along with a deep message made this a truly enjoyable book from beginning to end...While When Two Become One deals with some very heavy topics, it is done so with grace. There is real humanity in the characters of this book; living, breathing, imperfect human beings doing the best they can to survive. I felt the internal struggles that they faced, good and bad, and could relate to their pain in a real way. This is a beautiful novel with a strong message.

Author Alicia Hill Jones has created a readable, delightful story of Christian faith surmounting difficult odds in When Two Become One. The difficulties in Ambrose's marriage are real ones, not storybook imaginings and Jonas's gradual acceptance of Christian faith will ring true with all readers, religious or otherwise.

As you pack your bags for the summer vacation don't forget to grab a few good books. May I recommend: When Two Become One" by Alicia Hill Jones? I know you are saying: "Not another happily ever after story!" Well who said it was a happily ever after story?
"When Two Become One" is a novel about the realities of marriage when people do not pay attention to the small stuff. The reader is given a front row seat into the dramatic lives of Jonas and Shayna as they struggle through various problems. Did I say drama? Of course it would not be a good novel if there weren't any twist and turns nor would it be based on real life issues if the writer pretended like some things did not occur within the life and times of a believer. Within the 320 pages of the book the reader is able to see viable solutions to issues including: drug addiction, spousal abuse, adultery, unwanted pregnancy, as well as faith.
There are discussion questions at the back to use if you are part of a book club, bible study group or for personal growth and development. This is a great book to read when you want a different perspective on your relationship. Yes I know it is a novel but there are some truths within these pages that can allow you to refocus.
