The familiar plot of a lone wolf who finds his mate gets a fresh spin in this deeply emotional story. This time the mate is a witch with her own unhappy past. The characters are appealing, and passionate sex leads to a satisfying romance. Well-developed histories make the couple real and one readers will care about.
SUMMARY: Novelist Jonas Pierce plans to write a book about witches, and he's found the perfect place to do research: a cabin owned by witch Melissa MacRae. Jonas has his own secrets-he's a werewolf and determined to stay single so he won't pass on his curse. Mel, meanwhile, is 34 and a virgin because she has not intention of passing on her curse. But instant attraction has them both thinking one thing - summer fling.

Author Jonas Pierce checks in at the Whispering Pines Resort for a quiet place to write his book. Jonas is instantly attracted to the owner Melissa McRae. Both Jonas and Melissa have curses they are determined not to past on to the next generation, Jonas is a werewolf and Melissa is a cursed witch, so they agree to have an affair until the end of summer.

Curses is a hilarious, sensual and very creative tale. Cindy Spencer Pape’s colorful characters and plot building surprises kept me spellbound through the entire story. Curses is a most enjoyable love saga, and a great booster to lighten a boring day. I look forward to reading this author again.

But it would seem fate has other plans for these two tortured souls. Can love save them or will they remain cursed forever?

Ms. Pape has written a suspenseful, sexy story of love, curses, stalkers, witches, and werewolves. I got completely immersed in this one. Mel is such a caring person, always putting everyone before herself and always looking to the bright side of every situation. Jonas is a strong, caring, tortured person who believes he has to be in control at all times. I loved the way this story flowed so smoothly and was action packed from the beginning, but I have to say my favorite part were the two main characters. They seemed so real. I felt their insecurity, their fear, hurt, and most of all their love and longing to be free of their curses. I would highly recommend this one and look forward to reading more by this wonderful author.
