Wow! What an intense ride! And this is only book one- I can’t imagine what Lisa has in store for book two!
Run For Your Life by Lisa Freeman, is a must read! Not only for teenagers who think life would be better if they just ran away, but for all teenagers and parents as well.
A young girl of thirteen who had everything but the affection she desired from her parents finds the love she’s been yearning for in Bill, an older boy with a troubled family. A relationship that would soon have them on the run with a vast circle of strangers that held both of their young lives within the grasp of their clutching fists.
The young couple’s journey for freedom leads them through freezing winds and the sweltering jaws of heat. Lisa learns quickly the duties of an adult as well as learning to depend on herself and her instincts.
After two years of riveting memories and perfidious encounters, Lisa’s identity is discovered buying her two weeks in a ‘girls home hell’ and a one-way ticket home to face her disapproving family and a sinister judge.

It's hard to get my students interested in any book. But as one of my students and I read through Run For Your Life Book One, we read a few parts out loud, now everyone in the class wants a copy.
The book was an excellent read even at my age!

I think this should be required reading for all 13 year olds in all schools.
There are too many dangers in the world today to be out of the road hitchhiking with a boyfriend--especially an abusive one.
I had met Lisa Freeman a few years ago, as I was looking for tips on becoming a published writer myself. She told me at that time about her upcoming book. Now, just a short time ago, I purchased it. Once I started reading it, it was a must read until the very end. I am looking forward to Book 2 of this three book series. Go Lisa Go. All parents and relatives of teenagers, should recommend it to any troubled teenager of today. In this wicked world, teenagers need hope. They need direction, and this book shares many things. The things, that happened to Lisa during these years, could happen to any runaway teenager.
When I wrote ths book in 2000, I was concerned about children having access to the Internet and to chat rooms where "you can be anyone you want." Here we are many years later and the situation with children talking freely to stangers on the Internet
