Somehow the station she'd tuned into played the 40 classic songs from the seventies. "Ugh," she grunted and began to plug in her ear buds for her iPod.
"I'm lonely," a male voice called.
Georgina checked her ear buds. "That's odd."
"Lonely," the voice repeated.
A feather light touch rubbed the nape of her neck. Goosebumps prickled her skin. Suddenly dizzy, Georgina clutched the corner of a wooden cabinet. "Who are you?"
The ceiling fan came to an abrupt stop. A knock began in the backroom, a dressing area used for storage. Who could be back there?
Had a customer come in and headed back there without her noticing? She went to check. "Hello? Is anyone there?"
The knocking stopped as soon as her hands touched the doorknob. What could it be? She steeled her nerves as her fingers fumbled with the knob. Her clammy hands pressed down, and she threw more force into her effort. Upon her second try the door opened. She stumbled into a dark room.
