The journey starts:
I had such a wonderful journey getting to where I live now. I once lived in a very special place; it was where I grew up. It was a magical place where up is up and down can be up too.
Everyone is happy, always laughing, singing, and telling stories.
I can’t tell you how to get there or where it is, but I can tell you how I got here and where I am.
One gleaming starry night I was gazing into the deep endless sky. I had no troubles; I had no worries, just good feelings oozing out of me like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that the kid next to you on the bus just sat on. I was feeling good.
With the calmest sense….I started to fall asleep…
And than I heard it! I heard the song. It wasn’t a song I could hear with my ears; it was one in my heart. Wow! My heart was humming a song! It told me I had to go. Someone needed me, they needed some of the good feelings I had so much of. It was my time to share.

Hoo Hoo the Bear hears a song in his heart and follows it on a journey that ends on the shelf of a store. Here he sits and waits with other stuffed animals until he hears a woman singing the same song. He knows in his heart that he is meant to be with her, so he jumps right into her cart.
Hoo Hoo's Song by Amanda Kleback is a sweet story of the love and comfort a bear can bring to someone no matter how old they may be. It's a story that can be extended out to lessons on friendship and even adoption, as the scene with Mr. and Mrs. B. holding Hoo Hoo together is reminiscent of a couple with a child who has recently come into their lives.
I really enjoyed Hoo Hoo's Song, and my kids did too. It's available as an e-book or in paperback.
