The author has  first  discussed the various aspects of society  and their

intrinsic relationship and dependency on one another,_ the aspects

being first man as its unit,  then nature as its receptacle and ethics as

its moral guide. Then the ethics of the world since its earlier days,

primarily the western ethics ( also Indian ethics among the oriental

philosophies, although seperately) has been discussed in details to

bring into the  context its role and repurcussions on present day society 

and the ensuing environmental crisis. Then the aspect Environment or

to be precise the Nature has been discussed in both objective and

subjective manner.The interrelationaship between nature and ethics

also has been discussed in its intrinsic connotation and thereafter

follows the study of the nature and intensity of the repurcussion of the 

 problems of the environment,which are man madfe creation and the

authors analyses to find the ethical reasons behind them. Last of all, the

author has discussed about the possible reasons behind the ethical

degradation of human society in modern era and the possible solution

to it.
