Dark Mountain is a spine-tingling fiction with it's basis rooted so deep in reality it is rather scary. The novel is an excellent piece of work that brings the reader into a simple understanding of the truth that exists in the spiritual realm. This book is not for the faint hearted. God is very real and His angles are always working on His behalf. However throughout this work of fiction we are also faced with the reality of the powers of the enemy of souls.
The King family discover first hand the powers at work in the invisible realm. God, who is always in control, takes the family to a region where the powers of darkness are preparing to take over the town of Redemption. The family is unaware of what lies ahead of them, but soon they are faced with what leads them to recognize the great power of prayer. Prayer that moves the hand of God and His holy angles.
Can the powers of darkness be victorious when God's people pray? Dark Mountain reveals the answer clearly in a way that could be compared to a combination of Amityville mixed with Peretti.
Faith and fear are battling for the hearts of people. Which will you give your heart to?

Dark Mountain is based in the North Carolina Mountain's, and centers in a small town called "Redemption" where Satan worshippers kidnap, rape, and murder young women for demon sacrifice. Through out Sydney's story we recognize the spiritual battles of good and evil going on. Sydney makes it quite apparent that what we believe in our heart and mind invariably becomes the outcome of what we believe in the world and our interaction with others. There is the light and then there is the darkness.
Sydney Stone works overtime with her incredible imagination as she turns a faithful family's moving adventure from Florida into a sinister nightmare of evil. Sydney does a great job in showing us through her characters how important the power of prayer and belief in Christ is in our lives, and how those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior can be submerged, coerced, and brainwashed into the evils of darkness. I couldn't help but see this story as a reality of the corrupt culture of today.
Dark Mountain is a great read that keeps hold of your attention with every turn of the page. Nice job, Sydney!
