Flea Market Tales is a mixed collection of award winning short stories or stories previously published in magazines -- including Del Garrett's "A Matter of Principle" published by Louis L'Amour's Wester Magazine. And just a few others thrown in for additional entertainment.
What else do you call a mismatched collection of stories? So westerns, some science-fiction, some horror, or just some slice-of-life stories I've written over the years. I call it Flea Market Tales because like a flea market -- you never know what you'll find inside. -- Del Garrett
Excerpt
A lot of the stories included here are the direct result of what we call ‘homework’ at the Penpoint Group writers’ club. Given a few words to weave a story from, or maybe a set of colors, or just writing what we see in a photograph, it’s amazing and fun to see how many different stories can be written from the same set of ideas. Other stories are marked by their previous publications in magazines. I write mostly westerns, horror and some science fiction. A good story is a good story. I hope you enjoy reading them. -- Del Garrett
