Faith Marriage
(Tale in the Spirit about a Roman Catholic Life in the Spirit tradition)
Life in the Spirit is a mystery of old. A heightened state of awareness which can cause visions and strong mental imagery. In modern terms it is a form of telepathy. The Apostles of Jesus, as the New Testament documents, sometimes used this method of communication.
The expression “Catholic will level setting” as used in this novel refers to such a strong experience – visual, easy word flow, almost like being there.
Out of one billion Roman Catholics, only an estimated 150 are party to this tradition. A very small number - a grain of sand! Every Faith Marriage is a unique mystery. The story you are about to read is a Faith Marriage but not the usual kind – perhaps the only one of its kind since the birth of Christianity.
It is unusual for two reasons. One, the woman, Lisa, is a celibate Roman Catholic Sister – while Faith Marriages have traditionally been only between lay Catholics (i.e. not among Priests, Brothers, Sisters).
The man, Darth, is also unusual. A type of psychic defined in our web pages as a Natural Telepath. A culture in its own right. An absolute monarchy with the first-born to the first-born upon attaining of age becoming the head, the King of Queen, of this community. Male first-borns are extremely rare. In their history they only count two previous males as their first-borns: Moses and Jesus in fact! The third male first-born is Darth, belongs to this generation, and according to the myths and legends of their kind, in him the Holy Spirit – and not the Son of God but the Son of “the God”.
However, to grasp our tale in total, you need to appreciate some basic mysteries of the Judeo-Christian Life in the Spirit traditions and knowledge. Jesus was the Son of God – but this refers to the spirit in Jewish “Holy Ways”, not “God” as in an advanced alien life-form or supreme being. Our Third Testament, available for purchase, explains all this. Darth is the “Son” of “the God”, not “God” in this sense. Darth is not “human” in any sense of the word except that part of him which is his natural body and brain. Whether Moses, Jesus, Mohamed, or any one else such as Buddha, was truly acceptable to “the God”, is the key mystery facing Lisa, a Bride of Christ, as she comes to know her husband in the spirit, Darth.
In a typical Faith Marriage, the role of the “Catholic wife” is well established. She acts as the “bind” between her own ordinary life marriage, and her husband’s ordinary life marriage, while in the spirit she is the wife in accordance with tradition. But Lisa soon understands she must be the “bind” between three women: Helen, Darth’s wife in the Jewish Holy Way tradition; and Lana, perhaps the most important wife, an Islamic “Holy Woman” but also a “Telepathic Wife” which is close to what a wife in an ordinary marriage is. And then there is Anne, Darth’s wife in ordinary life, a Catholic like he, with whom Lisa shares a mystery.
Chapter 1 – Honeymoon (Part 1)

My cup was never easy, and those who follow me
May not be spared tribulations
Because they want to feel other human beings are as compassionate, as ethical, as gentle, as Holy
As those who are mine - and mine are Holy for they know their failings and do not deny these
But alas, the world outside is harsh and cruel, and greed is at the heart of most men and women
And the wife who appears loving may turn opposite if the husband can no longer provide for her
And the relative so completely trusted may become the devil in pursuit of money from a will.
Therefore, trust the spirit that unites you as a husband and wife of the faith
For together, true love you will find in the spirit
And do not deny one another on the grounds of a false loyalty - only the spirit knows when loyalty is true
And the loyalty, trust, faith, and in time love, between a husband and wife of the faith
Is guaranteed by the spirit, for the spirit searches the hearts and finds those who belong together
Those capable of a deep friendship and love and respect of each other - a marriage in the spirit.

The Taj Mahal was a luxury Hotel overlooking the ocean and the stone arch known as the Gateway to India. On the balcony of the expensive room Lisa recovered from jet lag, sipped cool drinks and watched the activity below in the plaza fronting the ocean. Lisa found the Indian city of Mumbai exhilarating. A mix of modern buildings and shanty towns; of clean streets or streets with garbage piled against the gutters; of a chaotic stream of cars many with old-fashioned appeal; of long streets with restaurants and the abundance of street vendors - and people, people everywhere, and sometimes a cow standing on the footpath while people walked around it.
Lisa did not feel adventurous enough to explore the city much on her own and most of the time stayed in the Hotel. From her balcony there was always something happening in the plaza below: a Hindu priest arguing with tourists refusing to buy whatever it was, Lisa could not make that out, in his basket; newlyweds, so Lisa reasoned, posing for photographs by the Gateway to India; a tourist boat piling more and more tourists aboard - so much so Lisa was sure the boat would collapse; many stalls on one side selling trinkets that glittered in the Sun. Perhaps most of all Lisa was intrigued, and then alarmed, by young girls not much older than twelve wearing a pretty dress approaching single male tourists.
A commotion in the street below. Lisa leant her head over the balcony. A black taxi had come around the corner much too fast and failed to avoid a man pushing a cart across the road. The cart laden with fruit, mainly apples. The cart was hit as the taxi came to a screeching halt. It toppled. The apples were rolling across the street. Many people coming, mostly children, to help the man retrieve his apples. The man had uprighted his cart but now that the taxi driver stepped out, the two were exchanging strong words. Was it English? Lisa was not sure. Some of the Indians she had come across spoke English but with such an accent and in such a way she wasn’t sure what they were saying. At the Hotel, on the other hand, the English the manager and the Hotel assistants spoke was very good and very clear.
A policeman appeared from nowhere and was with the two men, perhaps trying to work out who was at fault. Other cars had stopped, unable to steer around the cart in the middle of the road, their horns blaring. The policeman decided to help the man wheel his cart to the footpath on the other side, then stood in the middle of the road with an arm stretched out, in his mouth a whistle he was blowing, stopping the cars from trying to move while there were many children still on the road picking up and returning to the cart the apples.
Lisa had arrived in India two days before Darth was due to fly in. They had arranged to meet in Mumbai, India. From there they would travel to an area where there was a Catholic orphanage and meet Linda.
The Taj Mahal was an expensive Hotel but they both agreed a number of nights in this particular Hotel would not break their conservative budget, and because it was their "honeymoon" both felt they had a right to a touch of luxury.
