These three intelligent byte-brains brought out the myths and the truths of environment change and climate control by interacting amongst them. eMaya was the netname of Bitsy who summarized the discussions and wrote out emails on various aspects of climate control.
Though eMaya is science fiction, the facts about the Earth are real and the conclusions are valid. The book explains difficult concepts of environment and climate change in very simple and lucid way. It answers questions about global warming which you are afraid to ask. eMaya is net-active. She scuttles the plan of using a nuclear bomb to create cloud of dust for global cooling by explaining the concept of temperature equilibrium on Earth. This is eMaya. I am concerned with the rising population of the World.
The concern has arisen from the acute food shortage we have just been through. It has also highlighted the amount of food, land and water resources which the animal livestock consumes. We need to check the growth of population of both humans and animals.
I have seen so many emails about the global warming. They are worried about the half degree temperature rise in a hundred years! They are worried about the 2 degree temperature rise after 300 years! But my dear friends, how many of us prepared to find out what will be the population of the World in 300 years! We are growing at the rate of one billion people every 12 years. We might in 300 years reach a population of 50 billion! And with the rise in human population, the livestock will increase from 5 billion heads at present to 40 billion! Will we have enough food for all?
The answer is an emphatic NO. We can see the writing on the wall. There is a bigger calamity ranging ahead of us than the global warming. Wake up my friends. We have to work out a program of leveling of the population by matching the number born to the number of deaths in a year. We have to reduce the growth rate of our population and also our livestock. eMaya: Easy-to-Understnd Book on Global Warming
I saw the article ‘Who is eMaya?’ on articlesbase.com and was tempted to read it. It turned out that eMaya was a face created by 3 AI computers who researched the subject of Global Warming on the internet. This aroused my curiosity and I went forth to get a copy of the book and read it.
I was happy to see that the difficult subject of climate change and Earth concerns dealt with in such easy-to-understand manner. The book brings out the magnitude of the effect of reflection of solar heat by albedo effect of the Earth and the role of clouds as major factors in Global warming. The effect of burning fossil fuels is comparatively very small. eMaya uses simple Physics to dismiss the theory that Global warming is heating the sea to such an extent as to melt the ice at the poles. The amount of water in the oceans is so huge that Global warming cannot change its temperature even by half a degree over a period of hundred year!
It is a book which deserves to go into every school library. eMaya must be read for those interested in our planet.

I have had some feedback from the readers. All of them were quite happy to see that I had covered the whole subject of Climate Change quite thoroughly. One of them commented that writing in the form of conversation ran smoothly for him to grasp the dry subject of climate change. There was some criticism too. Two readers wanted to have some figures and images for pictorial depiction of the heat and carbon flows. A reader wrote that he found coping with figures a little too hard, but the concepts were well written. Another wrote that he found the anecdote about the nuclear bomb quite amusing but it drove home the point that Global warming could be caused by reduction of night-time cooling of the Earth. One of the readers underlined important facts and checked my percentages! Many wanted the book to be read by science teachers and used in teaching how the Earth works to the students. Overall I am quite pleased with the interest the book eMaya has evoked.
