Domed cities beneath the ocean and some great action
I really enjoyed the premise of this novella - it was well written, had some good action sequences, it was well-plotted, and had some very interesting characters, particularly Jane Doe, and I loved the future setting beneath the oceans of a distant world. Humans live in domed cities and towns - Earth is just a distant memory - beneath the ocean under a repressive government that holds its own secrets, including their acummulation of forbidden pre-fall technology. Enter Jake Stone, who has inherited a ship he doesn't want because it holds painful memories of the loss of his girlfriend, Stacy. His drunken binges and brawls are putting him closer to bankruptsy until, he surprisingly finds himself with a group of people who wish to hire his ship. From that point on, Jake finds himself in the middle of an adventure, with a group of people who hold their own secrets. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
