I tell Ima that in four weeks, three days, two hours and seven minutes, I will say, “Au revior”, which is French for goodbye. This is because I am jetsetting to Paris with Mum and Greg Green on their honeymoon.
Ima is green with the jealousy of it all. “Your accent sounds like gobbledygook,” she says. It turns out Ima knows each and every thing about France, because her great-great-great grandmother was French. It would be great-great-great if Ima were French. Then I would not have to put up with her in the sticks, which is where I live.
