While I was living in North Carolina, I came upon a bridge one day and decided to stop. I was compelled to smell the Wisterias and ponder a moment… This experience inspired me for the plot of this book Widow’s Leap. Ten years later, after those brief moments on that bridge, I decided to write the story; complete with its original emotions and wonderful characters that reached out to me that day to be known.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Geoff Thomas works for The New York City Chronicler, he is happy with his job but not his life. He feels out of place and lost, but recently something in him has started to stir. After weeks of being haunted by the same dream, he decides to visit the aftermath of one of the worst hurricanes to wreak havoc in the Cape Fear River Basin.
As he loses his way in North Carolina, he stumbles upon the tiny town of New Hope. Immediately he feels at home and is drawn towards an old, abandoned bridge. The town’s people call the bridge Widow’sLeap and avoid it like the plague. Geoff soon learns that the bridge holds a secret… a secret that involves him.
As he searches for answers, he meets Ophelia, a former slave. Ophelia is also a witchdoctor and can help Geoff find the answers he seeks. Does he dare seek the truth?
