A Lifetime of Treasures Synopsis
The trio writers of “A Lifetime of Treasures” take the reader on a poetic voyage of life. The writers begin by taking a leap of faith and maintaining their love for God, while writing about some of the most delicate current issues facing the church today, homosexuality, racism, and homicide. In “Two Ships at Sea”, both Bryan and Mary discuss war and it’s ever present effect on our lives. Mary sails right into the “Pride” parade. Read on to learn more about our racial history. The poem of “Grandpa John” is an actual part of Mary’s maternal history, exposing the ugly sleeve of slavery in the south.
The three writers begin to “Grow in Grace” as they allow the Holy Spirit to guide their writings. All of them glide into the fourth and fifth chapters. The most difficult piece was, “Triplets”. This poem is a true representation of the thoughts and actions of family. One would have to read this piece in order to understand it in full. There is much symbolism in all of our writings, especially, “Triplets”.

Politics
Politicians are strange creatures.
Sometimes we only see them during voting years.
They sometimes shed funny looking crocodile tears.
They may be tears of a crocodile, but it is the face of a cold-blooded politician.
Citizens can no longer keep up with the circus of these women and men.
We will not discuss the butterfly polls.
We do not know these political holes.
Some went missing in the political fold.
We do not want to be lied to.
Whatever a politician signs to, know one knew.
We can hold their feet to the fire.
Let us take these politicians amazingly higher.
The last man standing may not be a man.
She can play a game of joust, yes she can!
May the best man or woman win?
Politics is a necessary sin.
Let us just add in the political circus pets.
The elephant has left the room.
The bilingual donkey is tongue tied and looking confused.
The monkey beat both the elephant and the donkey.
Bad monkey, no more political tricks.
