Why I Wish on Rivers

The light of dawn sweetly seeps through my window in the songs of a new day,
While shining on days before,
My mind is like a river of thoughts so serene and secure.
so
I wish on rivers and bathe in the sun.
To praise the Savior and his many earthly creations providing a pulse in
life’s celebration,
To cleanse the mind of my enemy,
To transform the pain of many pages in history,
so
I wish on rivers and bathe in the sun.
To teach love and pray for it’s practice,
To accompany men in their greatest deeds and be more than just black
I wish on rivers and bathe in the sun.
In the hope that a specific hue won’t define me and can’t categorize you,
That violence will not walk amongst men,
All of the devil’s detestation will come to it’s end,
so
I wish on rivers and bathe in the sun.
I wish . . .
I wish
