Excerpt
The silver-haired drow, clothed in his finest midnight purple robe, wielding his thin sword, bent low into a crouch and walked slowly into the dark, massive cave. Sounds of condensation dripping from stalactites far beyond his visual range were the only thing that could be heard by the elf, although he sensed he was not alone in the huge cavern.
Although all drow were born in infravision, the ability to discern the heat signatures left behind by other creatures, there was nothing visible to him in this endless cavern that he could see in any spectrum.
Drip.
The drow's ears perked up when a drop of water fell to the stone with an odd resonance. It seemed different. It felt different. Immediately, the drow's fingers tightened silently around the grip of his sword. He held his breath and listened.
Drip.
There what that faint sound again. Another rogue drop of water falling to the stone floor. Normally, a drop of water falling high from a ceiling would echo with a higher and more recognizable pitch than would perspiration falling from a short distance. This sounded suspiciously like the latter.
