"Why I Love My Dad," is a great children's story. It shows the depth of love between a boy and his dad. The cover illustrates the basis of the story.
The main character is a boy named Max. Max narrates the entire story and gives readers insight to why he loves his dad. He takes us on a journey of the time that they spend together.
Throughout the story Max clearly states that he loves his dad because of all the things that they do together. Although unspoken, Max's dad's actions show that he loves his son as well.
This story reminds me of why I loved my dad and all of the wonderful times that we spent together. This book is an easy read and speaks to children as well as adults.
I believe the author achieved showing that the simple things are sometimes the most valuable and spending time with your child(ren) is time well spent. The activities at the end of the book are a great engaging tool.

The graphics on the front are not that inviting, but the message within is phenomenal. I guess the saying, don't judge a book by it's cover, rings true. The book's simplicity is also it's charm. The message that touches the heart is the magic of what a dad can do if he is spending time with his child. As simple as a child expresses his love or interest is how simply Max presents his appreciation for his dad. The struggle and the tiredness make it all worth it. Good read and good message to be read to the kids.
