From the Author:
Friday, July 10, 2015, I was in Louisiana with my husband and son for the Manning Passing Academy. My son Nick was attending and my husband and I were making a mini-vacation out of the trip. We also were traveling with friends. It was Day 2 of the academy and hot and humid. The boys were learning a lot and I was having fun checking out some historical civil war cemeteries, southern plantations, and of course, the seafood.
The evening seemed uneventful. Randy (my husband) and Nick (my son) were sleeping in the hotel room, but I was having trouble relaxing. Every time I tried to lie down, I felt filled with anxiety. Eventually, I started pacing. Then, I put on some of my waterfall relaxing music. I was still tense and it was after 1 a.m. and starting a new day, Saturday the 11th. Then I started praying. My favorite go to prayer is the Lord’s Prayer, but instead of relaxing, I began to be filled with alarm. I felt pressure in my body, but no pain. A voice whispered in my head, “At what point do I call 911? I thought I was having a panic attack. I woke up my hubby, and started saying over and over, “Call 911, Call 911, Call 911,” By the time he was dialing, I started saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.” I felt like I was drowning.
As I was going unconscious, I cried, “Somebody, save me.” My last vision was seeing my arm turn purple. I wanted desperately to live, but yet I felt strangely peaceful. Everything went black and then bright white. The next memory I have, I was hot and wrapped in a cocoon. I could hear voices, but couldn’t move a muscle. I tried to open my eyes but felt like each eyelid weighed a thousand pounds. I kept telling myself, “Open your eyes”, but I couldn’t.
Then I started thinking, “no one knows I am awake”. I felt panic. I thought, “people might think I am dead”. I heard voices around me and I tried to move my legs. I concentrated and tried to swish my legs around, but I didn’t know if they were moving or not. I thought they might be moving, but I didn’t know for sure. (Later, my husband told me my legs were moving and he thought it was restless leg syndrome. I told him, “No, that was my signal that I could hear you”.) Finally, my eyes popped open. A nurse said,”There she is.” My eyes focused on my husband and son. They looked so scared but so relieved. I didn’t know where I was and I had something in my throat. I couldn’t talk.
I motioned for a pen. I wrote: Where am I? Did I die?.I’m hot. I was in ICU and my lungs were filled with fluid. I was on a ventilator and not breathing on my own, which is why I couldn’t talk. Suddenly, I was euphoric. I was alive. I had more time on this planet. I could see my children grow up, get married, and have kids. I would have more time with my family. I knew I wasn’t done with this life. I wrote on my clipboard. “God is good.” It didn’t even dawn on me that I was sick. Then I wrote, “I want this tube out.” The answer was no, not until the next day. I needed to be more stable. Tears stung my eyes, I wanted to talk. read more on her blog

Excerpt
If you have experienced a major disruption in your health, your life, your business, your relationships and/or your career, this book is for you. If you want to move forward and do more of what you love, please read on. Miracles are possible. Healing is possible.
When something drastic happens in your life, for example, an ICU stay, an unexpected diagnosis, a major financial disaster, or a relationship crisis, you are reeling and shaken to your core. I know I felt this way in the summer of 2015 when I woke up in ICU and was breathing on a ventilator. I went through stages of emotions. At first, I was euphoric that I was alive. Then I was in disbelief when I was told a virus had attacked my previously healthy heart, and I may need a heart transplant. Then I felt depressed. Then I felt terrified that I was going to die in my sleep and my children would be motherless.
I processed these emotions over three days before I decided to take charge of my health and every aspect of my life.
What happened next is a recipe for anyone who finds themselves in a seemingly impossible situation.
You can heal anything…
First, engage in your spiritual practices. This is the time to pray and/or meditate. Reach out to people and ask for prayer. Connect with other spiritual minded individuals. Thousands of people prayed for me, and I prayed on the phone every day with my parents. I also practiced meditation. The group energy of prayer unleashes massive power. Pray for peace of mind, for comfort, for healing, for guidance, for clarity, and for wisdom. One of the biggest benefits of prayer is the realization that you are not alone. You don’t have to shoulder everything.
Then, decide that you are willing to do and be anything that it will take to not only survive, but thrive. When you are ready to make happiness a priority, Get your free Happiness Challenge Report Here.
You will be busy once you decide that you are taking charge. You will research, you will talk to people, you will try things, and you will trust your intuition. Be sure that your research includes searching for cases where people have spontaneously healed from your situation. Otherwise, only researching your illness or situation will likely end up making you sad and depressed even though you will be informed. Find people who have healed and talk with them. Consider options like alternative medicine along with your doctor’s suggestions. Ask questions about everything.
Next, accept what is in the moment. Accept your situation. This was difficult for me because I had never been on medications or been seriously ill in my life. My arteries were in perfect condition. I felt, “Why me? I am too young and healthy for this.” When I stopped asking, “why me?” I began to open the path to acceptance. There is peace in acceptance. When you accept, then you can make plans. I told my family that I was doing everything on my bucket list in a year because we weren’t sure that I would have more than that amount of time.
Then, cherish each moment. Spend your time with people you love. Spend it doing what you love. Spend it truly living. Stay away from people who are negative and those who create more stress.
Follow positive mindset principles. My near-death experience was a chance to practice everything I had been talking about for over twenty years and everything I had been teaching in my company for almost nine years. This time I needed to save my own life. These are the techniques I used.
