Obi, an ambitious young man embarks on a voyage with a group of other travelling merchants. They set sail and take their course towards their destination, the isle of Dena - arriving safely there. But on their voyage back home these merchants encounter a mysterious and dreadful storm that capsizes their ship, leaving a great many of them perishing in the waves. Obi and ten others (including the famous Captain Olu), have the good fortune to be washed ashore a strange island clinging to pieces of the wreck.
They make inland and survey the island, hoping to discover their position. But when they at last discover it they have small ground for rejoicing. For they have been shipwrecked on the Isle of Oduduwa! - The uninhabited, hostile and desolate isle of Oduduwa from where no shipwrecked mariner has ever escaped. And in spite of all the merchants do they are unable to find their way home, and rapidly they meet with strange pitfalls that begin to shed their blood one after another...........
