When Prince Duncan Caldwell finds himself alone for the very first time in his life, he cannot understand what has gone wrong. From his earliest years, he had been with at least one, if not both, of the two special people he had chosen and deeply loved. Christopher Templeton, his phase mate, and Ylianor Caldwell, his father’s heart child, have always been his reference points, the two fixed stars of his evolving destiny. His insane lust for both have further strengthened his bond to them during the apparently endless time they had already spent together. And yet…no matter how much he gets of them, it’s never enough. Not of Ylianor, his adored princess, born and raised in Black Rose, his own home. Certainly not of Chris, his beloved angel, met as a mere eight-year-old on the hills of the same Black Rose that had brought Ylianor to him. So why is he alone now?
That’s just the beginning of Book 7 of the Virtus Saga, where nothing is as it seems, not since soul mates Prince Duncan Caldwell and Lord Christopher Templeton share a love that is unrivaled until a fateful knock on Ylianor Meyer’s dilapidated shack changes everything forever. This book picks up right where Book 6, The Heat, Book 5, The Pledge, Book 4, The Leader, Book 3, The Festival, Book 2, The Game, and Book 1, The Sex, leave off and plunges it all—the lust and the sex vortex, but also the gossip and the multiple partners. Mostly the unique connection laced with a jealousy and violence that are unknown to their world. Because this isn’t just another erotic dark fantasy series. This is the making of a trio. Of three remarkable characters that have to overcome their uncontrollable lust to face the truth about themselves and their planet, in order to defeat the darkness about to devour them. To be as one whilst three! That’s their real challenge. Because, if they can’t learn to share power and love in equal measures, how will they be able to ensure their world’s survival?
All About the Virtus Saga
Erotic Dark Fantasy Paranormal Romance Series that Explores the Dark and Light Sides of Power and Love between Three People
“Eroticism off the charts!” The Romance Reviews (TRR) – Because “US IS SEX!” The Lord Book 8
The Making of a Trio: the Virtus Saga shows how power and love can be equally shared.
Now completed, Laura Tolomei's erotic dark fantasy series is continuing to receive critical acclaims. The concept of a world free of violence attracts readers. The fiery MM and MMF sex keeps them hooked to every page. The titles say it all. Book 1 The Sex, Book 2 The Game, Book 3 The Festival, Book 4 The Leader, Book 5 The Pledge, Book 6 The Heat, Book 7 The Princess and Book 8 The Lord—they all drip passion and lust woven inside an imaginary frame ruled by magical powers, divided between good and evil and struggling to survive.
The way it all starts and progresses, nothing is as it seems. Soul-mates Prince Duncan Caldwell and Lord Christopher Templeton share a love that is unrivaled, until Duncan takes shelter in Ylianor Meyer's dilapidated shack. Ylianor has always loved Duncan, and while Duncan is attracted to her, she remains a servant—okay to bed, but not acceptable consort material. Unwilling to accept it, Ylianor vows she will do anything, even come head to head with his insufferable lover, to stay at his side.
But there is more going on than either of the three realize. Lord Arthur Fairchild, Leader of the High Council, knows his planet Sendar is doomed unless the predestined Hero steps in and blocks the darkness threatening to take over. And even if one person alone fits the bill, Arthur does the unthinkable—not only does he summon the Hero, but the Hero's consorts as well. Sendar needs these three special people to become fully aware of their powers and learn how to use them together. Sendar needs these three special people to work together above and beyond their personal issues. Sendar needs these three special people to become one whilst being three to make it through the difficult times ahead. If they do not, the Virtus which holds all of Sendar's secrets could destroy them all.
Excerpt
“By the gods! I fucking missed you!” Drawing back, he embraced Ylianor from under her armpits and set her back on her feet. “I can’t seem to find another woman quite like you, no matter how much I’ve looked for one.”
“I’m nothing special.” Reeling from the force of the orgasms, Ylianor had to hang on to Jeff to steady herself.
“No, you are.” Wrenching her arms, he gave her all the support she needed. “That’s why I wanted to talk to you right before the Fitting. To ask you to reconsider your decision to pledge to that odious Lord Templeton.”
“You did?” She frowned in mock concentration. “I didn’t know…”
Actually, she did. She distinctively remembered David telling her Jeff was looking for her, and her ardent plea to keep him away with any excuse possible.
“They were hectic times—”
“Which didn’t stop you from going through with it, anyway.” Frustrated, Jeff shook his head. “How could you? From all I hear of the Hall, he hasn’t changed his taste one bit.” With a finger under her chin, he tilted up her head. “Or his love, if that scene in the attic they told me about is true.”
“I never expected him to change anything.” Least of all his feelings.
“No, you don’t understand.” That he was getting unnerved was evident from the redness mounting in his face. “They were exclusive from the start. Duncan and Chris I mean. And I know, ‘cause I’ve known them from before their phase, which was unlike any other.”
His expression was a combination of envy and surprise that told Ylianor he had not gotten over it yet.
“Robin and I both had phases, but they were nothing like theirs…” Jeff frowned as though deep in memory. “No one could come between them, and you can ask Carl Strepton for confirmation.”
Yeah, good old Carl. No, she had not forgotten him, either.
“Carl tried separating them without success. They were as thick and tight as if they were one and understood each other even without words, like they had their own language or something. I’ve never seen anything like it, but it didn’t feel right then or much less now. Today that one is the leader and the other is pledged to you.”
No, Jeff just could not get it.
“And the leader reaffirming their love in such a public and dramatic way then nominating him as co-leader no less…makes me wonder where you fit in all this.”
“I’m as much a co-leader as Chris is, in case you haven’t heard.” It was time to set some of his records straight. “And if you’ve been keeping up with the Hall’s gossip, you must’ve also heard about his favoritism for me, of how taken he is by me to the point of privileging me over others, his phase mate included. And everyone makes fun of Chris saying it looks like the leader is more of my pledge mate than Chris himself.”
And no need to tell Jeff this was the honest truth, too.
“I have heard, yes.” He moved closer. “But I didn’t know whether to believe them. There are so many rumors, after all—like that David fellow becoming so important or Duncan pledging to Cecilia Hurst, the vice-leader herself.” His eyebrows rose. “Do you think he will?”
Never. “Could be.” No, no way. Her gut instinct, not to mention the lights she had caught whenever the two were together, told her there was little future for them in that department.
Cecilia’s future was with David. It was something Ylianor had glimpsed during the last days of her training course. Something had definitely shifted between them. A new closeness, perhaps. Something that attuned their lights like they had never been in the past. Ever.
“Well, even if it’s not her, Duncan needs to pledge.” Jeff made it sound final, like he was discussing a necessary treatment. “As a leader and as a Caldwell—”
“So one pledge in the family isn’t enough?” Ylianor teased.
“Even if my brother will take Elizabeth’s name, Duncan should still pledge, particularly if his mother should…” Embarrassed, he looked away. “Well, you know what I mean.”
“Yes, I do.” And you haven’t changed one bit from the class-conscious bastard I remember, asking me to pledge to you in Harbor Town only because he had just made me a Caldwell.
Funny how on that particular occasion, the demon had been the one to rescue her.
“But I have no idea who his mate will be.” Then she leveled her gaze to his. “What about you? Shouldn’t you be thinking of pledging yourself?”
