I have wanted to translate this book since I fell in love with it at school 60 years ago.
The first chapter describes Alphonse Daudet's arrival at the old windmill he bought when he fled the journalistic rat race in Paris. The other stories carry on the theme of Provencal life in the 19th century. They are very varied and all fascinating.
