The Florida humidity is heavy and I can feel the sweat forming on my back. I’m not sure if it’s really the humidity or the blood surging through my veins, but it’s uncomfortable. The back door is closed, but fortunately, for me, it isn’t locked. Quietly, the knob turned in my grasp and the door into a barely lit room opened with a slight squeak, but not loud enough to give me away. There is a lone light bulb in the middle of it with a string hanging down from the pull chain. I am carefully closing the door behind me and moving cautiously past the dangling cord into the next room...it has no light that I can see. I can’t see well in the darkness so I need to be a bit closer to the séance room door. My toe kicked something on the floor and it is sliding across the boards. Is the noise going to attract someone’s attention? It I stand perfectly still, afraid to breath, I can hear the session going on in the next room. I hear Lori’s voice answering the Voodoo Queen.
