A book of thumb nail sketches includes historical vignettes about settlements, towns, and villages. It is also an effort to make you aware of some places in the larger, southern portion of the state. Theres more to New Mexico than Santa Fe, Taos and Albuquerque.
It has taken a long time for people to realize New Mexico is one of the 50 United States and not a part of Mexico. Many lump it with Arizona because they know it is "way out west" in the same vicinity.
