Naked Expressions is a Poetry Collection. In this collection, I get transparent, bare my soul about growing up around poverty, the grips of a crack-cocaine pandemic, everyday family life in the ’hood, the struggles and hardships of becoming an unwed teenage mother, and so much more. Throughout the pages of Naked Expressions, I express my innermost thoughts and feelings about the all-too-common struggles that young people of color face. All the while, I hope to send a message of great faith, great strength and great pride in and through our greatest trials and our worst mishaps

Lost in the big world
'Knowing it all'
But, really knowing nothing at all
Nothing more than hood life; urban sprawl

Seed in my womb
Headed for eternal poverty, food stamps, welfare checks
Hoping, praying to get accepted in a government funded; housing complex.......

Take once beautiful curvaceous black-women and turn them into figures that looked like images of the living-dead
Walking up and down the street…Flip-Flops on, dirty feet, hair scattered all over their head.....................
