Mike Lewis met a man named Adom who told him he had a gift and was able to reactivate it. Mikes gift is the ability to see the future whenever he closed his eyes which is kaleidoscopeo. Now Mike sees clear visions of the future through a spyglass. He has taken Magin’s identity Mike is on the run. Mike meets the woman of his dreams, Danny. He tells Danny his secret and now she is learning how to defend herself. Mike, Danny, Patty and Sand become family. This is what Mike has been looking for. Is his family in danger? That’s how the book leaves it. Clincher.
This book was awesome. I was glued to my seat the entire time. I can’t wait to read the next book. I even want to go back and read the first one. I loved the way Walker explained Mike’s ability. How Mike broke his ability.

The Vision Chronicles is the story of Mike, who (in the first book) finds out he is able to see horrible images through a kaleidoscope, of things that will, or have already happened. Book 2 follows the evolution of his abilities, into Mike being able to see the future through a spyglass in his mind. It deals with Mike coming to terms with his gift (OR CURSE!?!), and trying to start a new life. In one of his visions, he sees himself enjoying a happy life with the woman he falls in love with, but will knowing that to be the outcome ultimately help or hurt him?
This is a very compelling and interesting thriller, with a fairly unique premise, as far as Mike’s ability to see the future. I really like the idea of the ability first materializing as broken and disjointed images, like if you were looking through a kaleidoscope, but after accepting his ability, he gets a kind of clarity, and the visions become much clearer. I really enjoyed reading Mike’s progression working through and past these issues, and ultimately coming to grips with the situation, and accepting his lot in life. There was very good character development for the main character, and considering this is a fairly long series, some kind of character growth is a good thing.
Overall, I very much enjoyed this book, and will definitely be checking out the other Vision Chronicles books in the future.

Now Mike sees clear visions of the future through a spyglass. The once broken and distorted ability has mended. But now Mike is a new identity: `If anyone had told him that he'd lose his home, identity and that so much chaos and death would happen after revealing the kaleidoscope secret to someone, he wouldn't have believed them. How could he possibly believe something that bizarre?' As Mike accepts his new ability the spyglass provides visions of potential occurrences in a future that seems to suggest a life complete with a family. It is the overture to dreams and he must overcome dangerous hardships to realize them. With his new identity he struggles to realize the dreams set before him through his spyglass. Having discovered the secrets behind his introduction to his new identity he must now realize that the best he can do is learn how to protect himself, stand and fight as long as he can, and struggle to realize his dream and the woman and life for which he longs.
