This book has been inspired by Khadijah Mamburay. Khadijah is an eight year old girl who has been asking a lot about her grandmother in Africa; Gambia to be specific. Over the years she learnt a lot about her grandma, spoke with her over the phone on several occasions, and came to know that her grandmother was a full-time farmer.
One day Khadijah suggested to her father that they write a story about grandma - thus the coming into life of this book, �A Day at Grandma�s Farm�. As the title shows, the book is based on Khadijah�s hope to one day go to the farm with her grandma. Very interesting and there is a lot to teach a child about farming, animals, birds, insects, and more.

I would never forget one incident that took place on the farm that day. While looking for a dry spot to stand
on, I saw a small place that I thought was an anthill. I went there and stepped on it. I was glad I found a dry
spot at last. But to my surprise my new found spot started moving. I realized I was being carried away.
“Grandma! Grandma! Grandma, help!” I shouted. Grandma came running and grabbed me off the moving
object.
