Few periods of American history define who we are as Americans like the War for Southern Independence. Although much has been written, few readily available resources address the period from an unapologetically Southern viewpoint as a war for independence. This primer presents an overview of the people, events and issues from 1861-1865 with an intentional pro-Southern viewpoint as a struggle for independence rather than as a struggle between civil authorities.
