The UN met and they would not have believed a word of it if not for the aliens in the assembly. Many countries tried to say this was a ruse, but when the Tiguns showed the real enemy to life, all opposition evaporated and fear set in. The delegate argued about how to fight and defend their counties. Obama had enough, he told them if they did not pull together as once common human race they were all lost. Then hope came in the form of an intruder and his friends.
“Ladies and Gentlemen sit down please and do be quiet” The red haired man said in a odd voice.
The security ran forward and shot the man and tried to subdue him. The man just knockout the guards and looked at the hole in his suit. Then he addressed the assembly.
“What a waste of a good suit. I am Brian Garrett, I was born before Jesus Christ was, and I am here to save your lives” He said to dead silence. “I know it is hard to accept, it has been so long since I have meddled in human affairs, but since the Tiguns have come to help so must we. You can not hope to defend or defeat those Korv, but I can, with the rest of my kind behind me”.
To illustrate his point he walked over to a marble ball on the edge of the dais and crushed it softly in his hand with no effort. He turned and pointed to the rafters and five new vampires dropped from the roof to the floor landing with no sound at all.
“Greetings” Said a black haired go of a man.
“This is Valor, yes he is where the term came from, he is over two thousand years old and the finest swordsman the world has ever known. These three are they are the vampire knight brothers, they are loyal to me alone. The last member is Lady Victoria leader of her clan. We offer you this hope, we will defend and train you and you will leave the defense of the Earth in my hands alone” Brian said.
“Why should we trust you, you’re a monster as well, a blood drinker” the Iran representative said?
(Brian chuckled amused, Valor did not).
“Unless you are a strict vegetarian so are all of you” Brian chuckled.
“Enough of this mindless banter, we are strong enough to defend the planet and you are not. Your foolish myths about our kind are insulting and laughable, we do not need you permission to do what must be done, know this if you interfere we will destroy you to save our world, so you are literally with us or against us” Valor said white eyed and teeth bared. He was simply beautiful.
“America pledges its support and cooperation to your efforts Mr. Garrett” President Obama said loudly to the shock of all the assembly.
“Very good. Brothers three take knights to America and find my blood heir Will Garrett and his family, then call for me. I must embrace him myself” Brian said.
“Excuse me, embrace” The tiny little old lady from Africa asked?
“Yes, I am going to bite him and make him a vampire like me, he has a choice though. It is my law that no human is turned against his will, and none of us are allowed to taste the blood of an innocent. I am the absolute law in my world. I will ask of each of you for volunteers to be granted the Kiss of the vampire. They will take an oath to never attack humanity on penalty of death, and they will serve their clan with Valor” Brian said smiling at his adopted son of the same name.
“How do you decide who is innocent” the lady asked Brian?
“If we are not at war, and you do not attack me or my charges, if you don’t sell drugs to kids or prey of the weak or poor, if you don’t pedal death, than loosely speaking you’re an innocent” Brian answered her.
“How is it that we have never seen you before Sir” The African lady asked.
“It is simple, you have. We are always among you, the best doctors, extreme rescue teams, sometimes athletes as well. We don’t meddle in government; it is your own choice to self destruct. I have been reading for the last two hundred years, and training my Knights. My human subjects have been as well educated as I could manage, the have been to the best university’s around the planet and home again, to use those stills to help our people and others around the globe who needed us” Brian explained.
The woman and all that were carefully listening to Brian speak looked a little nervous at my subject comment; that is until the Japanese ambassador came over and practically tackled Brian and Valor.
“Ho my friends. I am so glad you decided to help us” He blurted as he hugged both Lords equally in turn. “I wanted to thank you again for the help after the flood; we are finally all okay and back to normal life, without your help many would have died” Isha Zu said.
“You know then” The lady asked Isha Zu?
“Yes, they are my oldest friends, quite literally” He chuckled. “My father had me study the sword with master Valor, and later tactics with Lord Garrett, on how to lead a people with intelligence and strength and not be a tyrant. They are the strongest of all the Vampire lords and they are (He chuckled) unusual, they enjoy human food, bread especially as I remember” Isha Zu said.
“Yes, I adore bread, fresh baked dark Rye is my favorite with real butter freshly churned” Brian made a happy face. Val could not help smiling at his adopted father and Lord.
“Gentlemen and ladies as well, I would love to run down memory lane with you, but we are about trying to save the planet from invaders as silly as that sounds” Valor said in his harmonious voice.

The three vampire knights had removed their armor so they could move around easier without drawing to much attention. They used their heightened sense of smell to probe for the essence of Garrett in the blood of a human. They traveled at a crazy pace all over major cities, but notta. Finally in Washington States Aaron noticed that the wind smelled a lot like Garrett, too much actually. The brothers followed the scent easily, to easily. These were warriors, born in blood; they felt a trap coming on. However, the true amused them more than they would have thought.
There was a group of young human men playing basketball, they were pretty good, but the pace of the game was so slow by vampire standards, but fast by human standards. A small white male was slashing to the hole and his black team mate was shadowing him, at the last possible instant the smaller man dished the ball for and easy lay in.
Great coordination and timing Ian thought.
“Which one of them is the Garrett” Evan asked to nobody in particular?
“Red head middle of the court, 6 foot 200 pounds” Ian said.
“No, it is the small guy who can dish at the last minute to the black guy, he is our man” Aaron explained.
The other two brothers bowed to Aaron’s superior sense of smell. Each brother had a pronounced gift, and they always worked together as a well oiled team. This was a modified snatch and grab mission for the Lord Garrett, so it will be done. They were not as prepared as they thought, for Will.
Two hours after the game was over and Will was at home showering before dinner with Tana and the kids, when he got out and dressed. Tana told him to chop the salad. Will being fond of blade took the biggest knife to chop the salad out and went to it. The door bell rang and he went to get it. When Will opened the door three young men rushed through the door, Will managed to cut everyone of them on the neck, in the same spot, right across the jugular. The brothers just looked at each other in surprise and awe. A mere human wounded all of them in an instant even as fast as they were. Still, they had orders, so they went about trying to capture Will.
“Oh, Shit” Aaron heard behind him just as a baseball bat bounced off his head.
“Get off my dad” A teenage boy said as he went on the attack. Evan jumped to intervene, but the boy switch tactics in mid-movement from a swing to a stabbing motion and hit Evan in the left eye.
“Stop” a commanding voice sounded!
Will was covered in blood, his and some of the attackers. He was not about to let his guard down. He had never seen such good fighters, they worked flawlessly together, if they had not been caught be surprise by his skills he would already be dead and sadly, so would his boy. Will was scared because these guys were too good for Navar and him to beat.
“Out” the voice said calmly.
All three attackers walked right passed Will and looked him in the eye with no malice at all. They all had strangely light blue eyes.
