I have several learned and accomplished Indian friends and have always admired the diversity of India, wanting to visit there. Unfortunately, unable to visit but able to get to Karachi, Pakistan for four days and Dhaka, Bangladesh for another four days in 1978. So it is strange that I do not remember such a horrendous disaster that befell Bhopal in 1984, especially since it involved a United States company, Union Carbide.
I'm assuming that the story is true and that Ubaid Naseer was not given credit for what he did during that terrible experience. From what I saw of overcrowded trains in Bangladesh and what my friend Behram Randelia told me of commuting in Bombay (Mumbai), I can't imagine what it was like with the crowds that came to the station panicked over what was happening.
A page-turning novel about a relationship between best friends that is interrupted because of betrayal , deceit, sexual promiscuity and pregnancy happens!
