Crystal Clear is about a mother dealing with grief. Her family is caught in the middle of the economic crisis, as have many of us, but her life is suddenly compounded with another personal tragedy. It is too much for Susan to handle. So to cope with this emotional challenge she moves to another city to start a new life with her daughter, Caroline.

Within weeks, however, unexplainable things start happening when she receives a grim warning from her new, eccentric, next door neighbor. Not knowing how to deal with this shocking remark, she calls on a friend for assistance. Together, they frantically work to save Caroline's life, as well as Susan's sanity.

The story starts with a normal family steeped in financial worry as many of us are these days. The tragedy within their lives soon unfolds, then the one thing we all have to deal with at some point, the loss of a loved one. I felt a kinship with Susan from the beginning. As I moved through the tragedy with Susan, the unexpected starts to happen.

Who doesn't want the grandmother type like Alice next door who bakes cookies? When you learn more about Alice and what is going on in her house, you may not want her quite so close.

I loved the book and just couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I am sure you'll love it too. I highly recommend Crystal Clear to readers out there - grab it today!

I bought "Crystal Clear" this morning and I just now finished reading it. The story is captivating and the concept is unique. I found R.C. Drake's characters believable and likeable and I could definitely identify with them. I think that is very important for an emotional story like this one. Actually I think this would be a good book to read for anyone going through a major loss. I think it can help some people going through such a loss to read a book that shows that other people in the world have felt the same way. Also I can most definitely say that I never expected that ending. Surprisingly enough I think this book can also be an enjoyable afternoon read even for someone not looking for something too heavy. I think that how seriously you take the emotional aspect of the book is up to the reader.
