There is an old saying in the southern half of the country that you are welcome in any home in which the light is left on after dark. Please join me on the other side of the light...
..."When I woke, I stood in the middle of my front room's floor, beside the very rocker in my dreams. There was no lady in the rocker, but the front curtains still billowed in the breeze. The front door stood open, while the silvery moon still shone on the threshold, like the midday sun. The Spanish doll stood on the mantle, in the same spot as in the beginning of my dream. There beside the rocker sat the butter churn.
I realized that the coldness seeped into the room, and into my bones, from the open doorway and window. I was a little unsure of my steps, but moved, to close the door first. As I moved past the rocker, I noticed the little blue sweater hanging from it's back. My hands automatically reached for the sweater and I pulled it to my heart.
It was a reminder of a time and a place that I could not recapture. A reminder of a quest that I had begun years before, but had never completed. A quest to find the owner of the blue sweater that I held to my heart.
...The quicksilver moon made many things clear to me that night. She was gone, but she was sending me a reminder not to give up on my quest. Sometimes what we think is real, isn't, and what we think is not real, is. In her wisdom she had shown me that in between reality and dream, is yet another world.
In that place where real and dream come together, there we find the beginnings
of our dreams come true."
