A pseudo-historical anthology of real events given a Cthulhu Mythos orientated twist.
1816 was a year unlike any other and without question it shaped the decades and centuries to come. Most believe the palatable bland narratives of their history books, however the true explanations behind the various causes and events of that year were far more horrifying than they could possibly realise.
Stories told from alternative and unexpected viewpoints and situated from all around the world ensure that this anthology is both unique yet still holding true to the overall core values in terms of the atmosphere, entities and timeline established by HP Lovecraft and expanded upon by his inner circle of fellow writers in what has been termed the expanded Cthulhu Mythos universe.
This anthology offers the breakthrough collection of stories that fans of the genre have been waiting for, a collection that is more than just rehashing the same ideas of grizzled private investigators defeating cultists or deep ones in the overly saturated time period of the 1920s & 30s.
Twelve fabulous five thousand word Mythos inspired short stories, one per month, filter true events through a macabre mythos lens and attempt to reinterpret some of the years most significant events that shaped the world.
A fresh line-up of authors, both seasoned veterans and aspiring occultists, ensure that although the time periods of the twelve stories may be the same, the locations, settings & narrative perspectives will not.

Here is a small excerpt from Jonathan Oliver's story, 'Turner's Apprentice'.

When Alexander asked, “May I show you my own work?” I said yes, and now I fear that sleep will be a long time in coming.
Sarah, Bosch’s visions are as nothing to what I was shown!
A single canvas about two feet high, perhaps half that across. Against a murky background… actually dirty is the first word that sprung to mind – diseased, even. Against this broken and desolate plane stood something I can barely describe. The Chimera of Greek mythology is maybe the closest comparison, but that beast was composed of animals found in nature, whereas this…
“What do you think?” Alexander said.
I was at a loss. There was no levity in his words, no sign that he was joking, and so I had to provide the laughter, to which he responded in kind, though his eyes held a challenge.
Sarah, I can barely write for shaking. The stains upon this page are wine. If sleep won’t come, insensibility is to be preferred.
I have asked him to keep his dreadful painting in his room.
I'm a fan of historical fiction. Particularly historical fiction but tries to get the history right and then builds stories around events that actually happened. In spite of using the year 1816 because it is "unsaturated," I have little to go on except that the stories depicted are "occult" or "horror" and perhaps that year was one of the "Little Ice Age" years where the summer was particularly cold in the northern hemisphere.
Your video gives me little more knowledge because it goes by too fast. I don't know what a Cthulhu Mythos universe is and shouldn't have to look it up. But I'm sure there are readers out there who are very familiar with this genre and will want to read the anthology.
One of the stories presented as an excerpt would be a great help in determining what kind of a writer you are.
Grab those side-irons, saddle up and join former Civil War sharpshooter Luther Henry for a ride into pure terror, western-style…think ‘Wild Wild West’ meets ‘The X-Files’.
