Decisions is a dramatic novel that chronicles a young woman's decisions and her struggle to make decisions.
Chance is a young career woman, who moved to Chicago to take advantage of a better career opportunity. However, her career advancement causes her to become distant from her long time love. She eventually finds comfort with a co-worker, who not only causes the work day to go by faster, but makes her evening better and causes her to grow as a person. Consequently her new found interest causes her to question her current relationship. She's now faced with the dilemma of staying with the only person she's ever loved or moving on with the one person that makes her smile. Decisions is a dramatic look at how each decision we make has consequences, be it good or bad. It examines how not making a decision, hesitation in making a decision, making decisions impulsively, and making decisions out of comfort all effect the outcome of our life.
Excerpt
As she walked up the stairs to her apartment, she could hear voices from the television coming out of her apartment. Puzzled, I don’t remember leaving the television on when I left. She opened the door and to her surprise, Jeff was sitting on the couch, eating a sandwich and watching a football game. Chance heart started beating faster and her eyes got big bigger. “Hey Baby! When did you get here?” “I made it about an hour ago. “ After pausing for a moment, he continued “You looked surprised to see me. I am welcome anytime, right?” “Sure sweetie, it’s just…I hadn’t talked to you today and usually you tell me that you are coming up.” “Well I decided to surprise you today.” Chance leaned over the sofa to give him a kiss, however, Jeff seemed uninterested in a kiss from Chance. Concerned, she asked “What’s wrong?” Jeff looked a Chance, then grabbed the portable phone and began scrolling down the caller id. “Who is Chad Huntington and why is he calling you so much?” Stumped, Chance had to come up with an answer fast. She also needed to get that phone out Jeff’s hand before Chad called. “He’s who I went running with back a little while ago; remember me telling you about the co-worker that showed me the park I could go to run? Well, I talk to him in the evening sometimes about projects that we are handling at work.” Jeff didn’t seem to buy Chance’s story and his suspicion lead him to ask her another question. “So if ya’ll are talking about work, why is he calling you at midnight? “He might have forgotten to tell me something or ask me something when we talked earlier, so he would call again.” “On the weekend?” “Yes Jeff, on the weekend as well, he’s very involved with his work.” While Chance was telling Jeff how involved Chad was with his work, the phone rang. Jeff, still holding the phone, turned the screen towards him so he could see who was calling. “Oh, it’s Mr. Involved calling you now.” Jeff handed the phone to Chance. She grabbed it out of his hand and just watched it ring. “ANSWER IT!” He yelled. “I’m pretty sure he’s just calling you to ask you a question about work, even though he just saw you there, what, about an hour ago.”

I have read the book and it is wonderful book. Can't wait until there is another one.
