It's an easy read with possibly more sexual perversion than I would like but that did not spoil my enjoyment of it. Give it a go."

As he flew over the park, he could see it was well patrolled with police and park officers. Part of their campaign to reduce crime in Central Park, he thought to himself; however, even these patrols could not be everywhere at once throughout the night, and this park was just too large and too great a temptation to any vampire needing to feed. With its trees and bushes and lots of dark places to hide, Central Park was the perfect hunting ground for vampires.
After sweeping over the canopy of trees a few times, Longche suddenly detected a vampire heat signature in the trees below. Circling high above, he looked down and surveyed the area. The creature was hiding in the branches of a tree, which overhung a pathway used as a shortcut through the park. A few yards further along the path, an old woman with a small lapdog was slowly shuffling along. Longche could hear the woman speaking to the dog in a loud voice. She seemed to be trying to coax it to walk further; however the dog had obviously detected danger ahead and was frantically trying to pull away in the opposite direction. Dogs were very good at detecting the vampire scent, thought Longche. Perhaps it was because they were still hunters at heart and could therefore sense threats from other predators.
As the old woman continued to pull on the lead and scold the dog, the vampire crept down the tree trunk and began to crawl slowly towards her from behind, keeping in the shadows. The dog was scared now and kept up a high-pitched yelping as the woman bent down and tried to pick it up.
At that moment, the vampire raised itself up on its hind legs and charged silently at the woman with its two arms reaching out. Just as the creature was about to grab the woman, Longche swooped down and grabbed its head in his claws and carried it over the woman's back and into the black sky.
As he held the vampire's head in a vice-like grip, he took pleasure in the knowledge that if he had been seeking to destroy the vampire, then that would have been a perfect kill. For the best time to attack a predator is when all it's attention is on it's prey and it is about to strike.
The old woman straightened up and held the dog in her arms. She thought she had heard something behind her and turned to look, but all she saw was an empty path.
Scolding the animal, she said, ‘You see silly, there’s nothing to be frightened of. There’s nothing bad here at all.’
However, the little dog stared up into the night sky and shivered uncontrollably in her arms.

loved the story you felt you were there.One of the best Vampire books I have read. Have download the other two books hope there will be more
