"The Many Moods of Mary" is an eclectic collection of poems and short stories. I was entranced by the vividness of Ms. Wilson's poetry. "Youthful Eyes" had me pondering about youth versus elders. "Just a Boy" brought tears my eyes.
These poems show that inside all of us is a little girl or boy. We cannot forget our beginnings.
I was moved by Ms. Wilson's poem "The Life of Leisure?" about her mother's vibrant past in contrast to her life in a nursing home. And I felt sorrow as I read Ms. Wilson's poem "Momma I miss you."
I also enjoyed Ms. Wilson's short story collection. My favorite was "An African-American Child's Journey to Earth." The story was very vivid and quite moving.
All in all, I would highly recommend "The Many Moods of Mary." If you're looking for an excellent collection of poems and short stories, you definitely should check out Ms. Wilson's work.
