The wars, revolutions, religions, technological advancement and the encroachment of ‘civilization’ upon nature and native people are generally considered to be random, or just the success of the stronger and smarter. Having bad things in the world is just part of life; you can’t have the good without the bad, people say. And knowledge or perception of a spiritual nature is treated with skepticism in the increasingly materialistic, scientific and political world that has developed apart from any understanding of God or the supernatural. Such things are relegated to the realm of myth and legend. There are, however, many who believe that we are in the dark about the true age and history of civilization on Earth. The scant 3,000, 6,000, or even 10,000-year-old remnants we have found suggest we know only a tiny part of the story. But by using only our limited physical perceptions, we might never comprehend the Big Picture. It’s not our fault; we are trained to perceive with only five physical senses, the sixth sense having been back-shelved centuries ago - what was left of it, anyway. But for some people, myself included, this is changing, and a new spiritual awareness is testing the limits of our reality. This book makes, I feel, a strong case for the true core value of spirituality being the expression of love and free will. It makes clear that legalistic and ritualistic forms of religion are mere reflections or imitations of the truth, and can be dangerously misleading. While author Angela Micheals quotes quite extensively from Biblical scriptures, she also delves deeply into the truths of the Chinese Tao, quoting extensively the words of wisdom attributed to Lao Tzu and the Buddha. Working through illusions of various belief systems, Michaels tries to put her readers on track and give them a firm footing. She emphasizes the importance of love in all spiritual endeavors, correcting those who embrace the distorted notion that we are “gods” by pointing out that we are simply a part of God. The author warns how religion can be used by those with political agendas to control the masses by creating conflicting religions and by keeping the masses at lower standards whereby the truth cannot be clearly discerned. Michaels points out that when this happens we fail to perceive accurately our true “spiritual natures.” In a sweeping indictment against the enemies of truth, the “strange gods” who “thrive on war, fear, drama, sacrifice, misery, terror and chaos,” Michaels writes that even if the ancient “gods” or modern “aliens” genetically “re-created” us, God, or the Tao if you wish, is nonetheless the ultimate Source of all creation. The author perceives that Source as clearly loving, and that the “bad guys” who wish to undermine those values are trying to replace them with a kind of mirror image substitute.

Michaels also delves deeply into all sorts of notorious sounding secret government conspiracy theories that sometimes seem right on, sometimes thought-provoking, and sometimes a little off-the-wall, but irregardless the overall content and direction of the book could be used as a sound spiritual blueprint for ones life. It’s about empowering the individual. At least that’s my opinion. It challenges one not to just follow this or that movement blindly, but to think for yourself, research things, and finally to act in a loving way­the root core of true spirituality. This book offers clarification, guidance, and a spiritual lifestyle alternative for the reader’s thoughtful consideration.
