Ellen continued to go to lunch with Mindy.
“You won’t believe what happened recently,” Ellen started out the conversation. She knew Mindy was all ears for good news.
“I made contact with a union organizer.”
Mindy gasped with excitement.
“I had dinner last night with her. Her name’s Judy and she’s with the Office Workers Local 866. They call it OWL. How do you like that?”
“They want us to join?”
“They want to meet with us. Judy said we must have people from each department. Our committee has to represent people from different cultures, ages, sexes. I told her we could bring everyone together for a meeting. She asked if we could invite some people that we thought we could trust. Not everyone yet, just trustworthy ones.”
“I know, we have to do it right this time,” Mindy said. She thought about the people she knew at Empire.
